Thunder Gameday: Memphis Grizzlies (11-32)
Tonight the Thunder have perhaps a chance to wipe away some memories of last weeks loss against the Clippers. It was a game that Thunder players, fans, and commentators alike, expected the Thunder to win. But they didn’t, and tonight, they will be in a similar situation, and once again expected to win as the Grizzlies (At the time of this writing, before the Denver game) have lost 17 of their last 19 games, including an ongoing 9 game losing streak (most likely 10 by the time you read this). The Grizzlies are also under new leadership, well new-old leadership if you can understand that. Reason being is Lionel Hollins being name interim head coach…again. He has been the Grizzlies interim head coach twice before, going 18-46 combined over both stretches as the Grizzlies Interim. The move came after the Grizzlies decided to fire Head Coach Marc Iavaroni, who was 33-90 in his stretch as the Memphis head coach.
Rant Time: FS Oklahoma HD Feed Audio Issues.
Argh. Who’s fault is it? Fox Sports Oklahoma or Cox Communications? Do you watch Thunder games on Fox Sports Oklahoma HD? If so, have you also noticed a very annoying problem that’s been developing recently? I have, and let me tell you, it sucks! During Thunder broadcasts on Fox Sports Oklahoma HD (Channel 722 in the Tulsa Area) the audio cuts in and out CONSTANTLY, and if you don’t think its a big deal, try watching a game like that, its maddening! So my question to you folks in OKC is, does this happen with the FS Oklahoma HD feed in the OKC area? I think it would being as its still Cox down there, but who knows if one Cox affiliate is the same as the next. All I want to know is where I can send my complaint emails to!
The Ice Storm Destroys Thunder Crowd / Thunder Destroy The New Jersey Nets
The Oklahoma City Thunder had an interesting night tonight. If you are a Thunder fan living outside of Oklahoma, and didn’t get to watch a telecast of the game, you may not know about the Ice Storm hitting nearly the entire state pretty hard. I don’t know what the official attendance was, but on TV it looked VERY empty compared to what it usually is, and the few glimpses I caught of Loud City looked even emptier. It seems as if the only thing that can keep Thunder fans away from supporting this team is Mother Nature herself. I definitely can’t blame anyone for staying at home and watching the game on Fox Sports Oklahoma tonight. I can’t say how bad things are in OKC, but I live right outside Tulsa, and I just about bit the big one 13 different times, about an hour ago, just walking to the mailbox and back. I can only imagine trying to drive around in it. I guess I’ll find out bright and early tomorrow morning, yipee.
Thunder Gameday: New Jersey Nets (20-24)
Oklahoma City returns home to Loud City and the Ford Center tonight to take on the New Jersey Nets. The last time these two teams played, Nets Rookie Brook Lopez went nuts and dropped 31 points and 13 boards in the Nets 103-99 victory at home in New Jersey. The Nets come into tonight’s game struggling, having dropped five straight games after defeating the Thunder at home. They finally broke their losing streak on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies with a 99-88 victory.
Oklahoma City Thunder: Mid-Season Report Card
Well we’re just past the halfway point of the season, and I thought it’d be fun to take a quick look at each player and give them a brief evaluation of their performance this season. There are some players really doing well and excelling each and every night, and then there are some players who aren’t. So I tried to be as honest as possible in grading each player, and I think overall they would probably match what most other fans, who watch every Thunder game, think. But then again, they may not. That is the great thing about the internet and blogging, everyone has an opinion, and everyone gets to express that opinion through actual posts or even through commenting. So take a look at TOKC’s official report cards for mid-season and let us know what you think about how our boys are doing.
